Anna must rein in Prashant Bhushan otherwise should dissociate him from his team.

Sadly, Prashant Bhushan after earning immense love and respect of people for his anti-corruption crusade seems to have lost his way. As a Petitioner and Lawyer in 2G Scam case, he has done a commendable job. His courage and advocacy skills as a petitioner and lawyer in 2G scam case, have shaken the country and the govt., sending several ministers, MPs and top industrialists in Jail and probably some more may follow the suit. Also, as a key member of Anna Team , through his boldness, courage and intelligence, he has facilitated the Lokpal Movement against corruption very successfully so far. However, it seems success, love and support of people, earned by him for espousing the national cause, seem to have gone to his head. He seems to be considering him all knowledgeable, all powerful and most intelligent person on the earth. Also he seems to have been bugged by “terrible intellectualism”, which earlier bugged other intellectuals and human right activists like Arundhati Roy etc. As a result, he has started echoing the tone of Pakistanis and separatists in Kashmir asking for conducting plebiscite in Kashmir. His such irresponsible remarks have sent shock waves across the nation causing deep hurt to the nationalistic sentiments of the people. And yesterday’s incident, although being most unfortunate one deserving all condemnation, probably was also the manifestation of the anger and deep hurt of nationalistic sentiments of some extremely touchy people, who took his seditious statement to their heart. Whatever happened yesterday was very unfortunate; however yesterday’s incident should have led him to introspection that after being “darling of masses” till a few days ago, why, all of a sudden, he has become the “biggest villain” in the country? Now those very social network mediums like face-book, twitter etc., earlier supporting him so wholeheartedly in his war against corruption, seems to be replete with hate-messages and hate-remarks against him. This new development should have made him realize his mistake and amend suitably. However, instead of learning from his mistake and making suitable amendments in his speech and action on this sensitive issue, he continues to sing in the same tune. Also, he seems to be antagonizing same people and organizations, who have supported Anna’s movement so whole-heartedly. He is calling them “fascists”, ”communal” and asking ban on all such organizations. It is really very irresponsible of Prashant Bhushan. He doesn’t realize that how his irresponsible statements, earlier on Kashmir and now against very those people and organizations(who earlier supported him in his anti-corruption crusade), are weakening Anna’s movement against corruption.

Now, it is high time Anna should intervene, ask Prashant Bhushan to apologize for whatever he said earlier on Kashmir or at least ask him not to make similar statements in future. If Prashant Bhushan is willing to change his track, it is good otherwise he should be dissociated from his core team. This would be extremely unfortunate for Prashant Bhushan, who has done so much for the war against corruption; however, in order to keep the sentiments of the movement high and continue to enjoy the support of the masses, Anna may have to take this extremely painful decision.

In the interest of Anna’s movement against corruption, all sensible and right thinking people would pray to the God that good sense prevails on Prashant Bhushan and he changes his track and controls his ego, overconfidence, arrogance, “terrible intellectualism” so that Anna is not forced to take this “extremely painful” decision of dissociating Prashant Bhushan from his movement against corruption.

Egg on the faces of cabinet ministers and congress leaders on Anna issue

People’s power have turned the faces of our cabinet ministers and congressmen, marked by arrogance earlier, to having egg on their faces now.

The list starts with our, the greatest cabinet minister,the most popular minister of present times(most often for wrong reasons) and in-charge of two very important portfolios, HRD & Telecom. His acumen to deal with troublesome adversaries, for which his services were being often utilized by the Govt for few months, doesn’t seem to be working. His guile, which very well worked in case of Ramdev, which(according to his claim only)exposed and failed Ramdev, however, seems to have failed in case of Anna. As a result of the same, the usual face beaming with pride, arrogance, looks crestfallen . Most Honourable Minister Sir, it is nothing surprising, the moral of your failure in Anna’s story is that deception, manipulation, treachery to defeat adversaries may work once, twice, thrice but not indefinitely .You should know that in your war with Ramdev, you may have exposed Ramdev(as you often have claimed earlier) but in the process, you were also exposed and that’s the reason Team Anna had been extra cautious of you and that’s the reason they didn’t fall in the trap(certainly, this must be your suggestion only)of signing agreement with Delhi police.

For Home Minister sir, the failure to deal with Team Anna for the second time only adds another feather to his cap of failures. His saga of failures, ignominy don’t seem to abate for now. Earlier, failure to check naxalism, flipflop on Telangana, ignominy of facing the charges of rigging the loksabha election result in his favour, ignominy of supplying the list of some of those terrorists to the neighboring nation, who were living in India only and now this failure to handle Anna issue despite taking all the precautions only adds to saga of his failure and ignominy. Well, the man, usually known for his imperious and supercilious attitude and who was sounding arrogantly confident on his strategy on Anna till yesterday afternoon in his press conference, had turned feeble and seems to have thrown his towels on law and order front to tackle sea of support for Anna movement, by the yesterday evening, and was willing to release him.

The story is no different for congress spokespersons.

Digvijay Singh, usually, at his belligerent and provocative best for the party’s adversaries, is not at his usual best. Probably, he could read the mood of the people better this time. The very person, who called Baba Ramdev as “Thug” and “Fraud” seems to be keeping his (un)usual quiet this time.

Story of other spokespersons is no different. Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi, generally found to be highly articulate and logical in defending his party’s actions, was looking highly confused and was looking helpless and vulnerable to defend the questions of the anchor on Times-now,related to illogical and inconsistent action of the Govt on Anna Hazare. Dr. Ashwini Kumar, another highly articulate lawyer turned minister, had a struggling time on a TV Channel discussion,while trying to justify undemocratic actions of the govt. on Anna. He was finding so difficult to defend the govt on the issue, that otherwise, usually this calm,quiet,urbane,articulate and highly sophisticated spokesperson,often sounded highly irritated and was being evasive in his reply posed to him either by the Anchor or others on the discussion panel.

Manish Tiwary,Other spokesperson of the party, who, otherwise, also is very articulate, sophisticated and most of the times, very decent towards even his opponents, have become escape-goat of the party’s strategy. Un-fortunately, this man of decent manners, was asked to perform the unpleasant job of making a personal and all out attack on Anna. He tried to carry the job assigned by his seniors to perfection. He was screaming at the top of his voice, was being at his satirical best, while trying to dig the dirt of Anna’s Past(while in fact there was none)and while attacking, he got so aggressive that he made the mistake of calling Anna by “Tum”(and certainly for this mistake, he would have tough time for several months to answer to the people and media).As expected, his aggressive and irresponsible utterances during the press conference, against Anna has invited him “ridicule” and derision from people and the media, and as a result, he is finding difficult to show his face to the media and people.

Condition of the woman spokesperson,a day before, was even worse.On a difficult day she was asked to take up the cudgel on behalf of the party. Pushed into the corner and finding no plausible explanation, she meant to suggest that the sudden change on her Govt's stand on Anna was inspired by "Peepli Live" movie of Aamir Khan.

Even the gentle and sober PM was dragged to attack Anna, which he did also to his best, devoting almost thirteen minutes of his Independence Day Speech to criticize Anna for his fast and against his movement . It’s a different thing that he is so decent that even if he wants, he can’t be very indecent. He also tried to pursue the aggressive line of jingoes in his party but unfortunately for him, the continued upsurge of the movement, has forced him to backtrack and today while making a statement on Govt’s stand on Anna in Parliament looked very helpless and downcast.

Rahul Gandhi arrived to the scene late. Although, he also may have been responsible on carving strategy on Anna but was being wise enough to be tongue-tied on Anna publically. However, luckiest or wisest was her mother Sonia. Either, she has been lucky or has been deliberately wise so that she has been saved from the scene and has been saved from huge embarrassment and humiliation.

Any of the leaders, discussed above, can’t be considered to be lacking in any intelligence or wisdom; however their pyrrhic victory against Ramdev, turned them highly arrogant, and started believing that they can continue to behave the way they like; however sudden upsurge of the people in favour of Anna or People’s Power have turned their faces from being “Victor” to “Vanquished”. Well, this is the power of the people in a democracy. In a democracy, a ruler is because of the people and hence the leader should continue to listen to people, address to their genuine grievances, otherwise the ruler may have to undergo the same humiliation and ignominy, which present Govt is undergoing currently vis-à-vis Anna and his movement.
